Get help with a WhatsApp backup

While WhatsApp backups use Google Drive storage, WhatsApp manages the back file and end-to-end encryption.

This means Google can’t access, examine, or restore your messages, photos, or other media from your backup.

To restore it to a new phone, find a missing backup, recover media, or other issues with your WhatsApp backup, visit the WhatsApp Help Center.
