Learn how to navigate Gemini in Google Drive

Important: To use Gemini in Drive, you must have an eligible Google Workspace or Google One AI Premium subscription.
  1. On your computer, go to drive.google.com.
  2. At the top right, click Ask Gemini .
  3. In the side panel, enter a prompt. You can select a suggested prompt or write your own.
    • Select a suggestion
      1. Select from the list of suggestions.
      2. To get more options, click More suggestions.
    • Enter your own prompt
      1. At the bottom, go to the prompt box.
      2. Enter a prompt.
      3. Click Enter.

You can ask Gemini questions for help with general Drive tasks. For example:

  • "I need to share all files related to 'Project Everest' with our new contractor. Show me the fastest way to grant them edit access to the main folder and all its contents."
  • "Locate the spreadsheet where we tracked Q1 KPIs for the 'Nova Campaign', specifically the one Priya updated last week."

You can also ask questions from the web. To get answers from the web, in your prompt, include phrases like "from the web" or "from the internet."

Google Workspace with Gemini is constantly learning and may not be able to support your request.

If you get a suggestion that’s inaccurate or that you feel is unsafe, you can submit feedback.

  1. On your computer, at the bottom right of the generated text, click Good suggestion or Bad suggestion .
  2. If you click Bad suggestion , you can select the issue you found and enter additional feedback.
  3. Click Submit.
