Change slide size & measurement units in Google Slides

You can select a preferred unit of measurement when you edit objects or slides in your presentation. This includes inches, centimeters, and pixel measurements.

  1. On your computer, open a presentation in Google Slides.
  2. Click File and then Page setup.
  3. To pick a size, click the Down arrow Down arrow.
    • Standard (4:3)
    • Widescreen (16:9)
    • Widescreen (16:10)
    • Custom: Below "Custom," enter a size and pick a unit of measurement (inches, centimeters, points, or pixels).
  4. Click OK.

Change the unit of measurement

You can now choose your preferred unit of measurement for rulers and all objects in Google Slides.
  • To change the unit of measurement:
    1. At the top, click Tools and then Preferences.
    2. Check the box next to "Use measurement unit preferences."
    3. Select your preferred unit of measurement:
      • Inches
      • Centimeters
      • Pixels
  • To change the ruler’s unit of measurement:
    1. At the top, click the ruler.
    2. Hover over "Change units."
    3. Select your preferred unit of measurement.
      • To reset the unit of measurement to default based on your presentation’s locale, select Reset to presentation default.
