Change camera settings

You can change your photo and video settings. For example, you can turn night mode, flash, timer on or off.

Turn Night mode on

Get bright, detailed photos in low light

  1. At the top left, tap Settings .
  2. On the "Night mode" screen, tap Off or On.

Turn HDR on

Brighten and expand color range and clarity

  1. At the top left, tap Settings .
  2. On the "HDR enhance" screen, tap Off or On.

Use Flash

  1. At the top left, tap Settings .
  2. On the "Flash" screen, tap Off , Auto , or On .

Use Timer

  1. At the top left, tap Settings .
  2. On the "Timer" screen, tap Off , 3 seconds , or 10 seconds .

Turn Face retouch on

Adjust skin texture

  1. At the top left, tap Settings .
  2. On the "Face retouch" screen, tap Off or On.

Choose photo aspect ratio

  1. At the top left, tap Settings .
  2. On the "Photo aspect ratio" screen, tap 4:3 or 16:9.

Tip: This feature is only available on certain devices

Turn Save selfie as previewed on (selfie mirror)

  1. At the top left, tap Settings .
  2. On the "Save selfie as previewed" screen, tap Off or On.

Turn Grid type on

Frame photos more easily

  1. At the top left, tap Settings .
  2. On the "Grid type" screen, tap Off or On.

Turn location on

Save location info for photos and videos

  1. At the top left, tap Settings .
  2. On the "Location" screen, tap Off or On.

Tip: To turn this feature on for the first time, allow Camera from Google to access your device’s location.

Choose storage option

Select place to save photos and videos

  1. At the top left, tap Settings .
  2. On the "Storage" screen, tap to choose device or tap to choose SD card.
