Use Google Meet on Android XR
You can use Google Meet on an Android XR headset to join video calls in a mixed-reality space. Participants appear on a large virtual screen you can place anywhere in your room so you feel more connected and can collaborate more effectively with them.

To use Google Meet on Android XR, you need:
- An Android XR headset with the latest version of the Google Meet app installed
- A personal or work Google Account
Start or join a meeting
The Google Meet app on Android XR is based on familiar tablet experiences and provides a powerful communication layer for your spatial-computing environment.
- On your Android XR headset, go to the app library and open the Google Meet app .
- Sign in to your Google Account.
- Start or join a meeting:
- To start a new meeting: At the top right, tap New.
- To join a scheduled meeting: Go to your list and tap a scheduled meeting.
Share your view with others
You can share your spatial view or a specific application window with everyone in the meeting.
- While in a meeting, open the meeting controls.
- Tap Share screen.
- Share your Entire view or a Specific window.
Tip: To stop sharing, tap Stop sharing.

To take your video calls beyond the traditional flat screen, Meet on Android XR uses spatial computing so:
- Your meeting becomes a large, resizable virtual display you can place and arrange in your physical environment
- Participants appear clearly in a larger format
- You can organize your digital content for natural collaboration
- You have a realistic experience that feels closer to being in the same room with other meeting participants
Key features includes:
- Immersive large-screen views: Turn your meeting into a big virtual screen to look at the participants and what's being shared more easily.
- An enhanced presence: Make anyone's video bigger to get a better sense of their facial expressions.
- The ability to share your spatial view: Share what you see in your headset, not just a single window.
- Avatars: Create an avatar using Samsung Galaxy Avatars.
Create your Samsung Galaxy Avatar
- On your headset, open the Samsung Galaxy Avatars app.
- On your device, open the Samsung Galaxy Avatars app.
- Choose a preset Avatar to customize.
- You can customize the features within the app like:
- Hair
- Face shape
- Clothing
- Make-up
- After customization, tap Save.
- To set your new Samsung Galaxy Avatar as your default Avatar, tap "make default avatar" button within the Samsung Galaxy Avatars app on your preferred Avatar.
- To complete Face Tracking Calibration, go to Settings and then Avatar Settings and then Face Tracking.
- Open Meet in headset and when your camera is on, your Avatar will be visible in the call.
Creating an Avatar from Meet entry point
- On the Google Meet app, open the Avatar Selfie Camera.
- To access the Selfie Camera, enable the ‘camera on’ button for your meeting.
- From the camera, the Avatars Settings page opens.
- If you do not have a default Avatar set:
- A dialogue prompt takes you to the Avatars Settings page.
- Create an Avatar from the Samsung Galaxy Avatars app.
- If you do not have a default Avatar set:
- Once you set your default Avatar, it shows up in Meet XR’s Avatar Selfie Camera.
Tip: The Avatar tile disappears when you share your screen. It reappears once you stop to share your screen.
