Find security & privacy settings
- On your Android XR device, open the Settings app.
- If you aren’t sure how to open the Settings app, learn how to navigate on your Android XR device.
- On the left, scroll to find "Security and privacy."
- Select Security and privacy.
- This runs a security and privacy check up.
Manage privacy settings
- On your Android XR device, open the Settings app.

- Select Security and privacy.
- Select Privacy under the "Settings" section.
- You can manage several settings:
- Permission manager: Control app access to your data.
- Privacy dashboard: Check app permission usage.
- Health Connect: Manage app access to health data.
- Data sharing updates for location: Review location data sharing changes.
- Microphone access: Control microphone access for apps and services. You can share microphone data with emergency services, even if this setting is off.
- Show clipboard access: Display a message when apps access copied content, including text and images.
- Show passwords: Briefly display characters as you type.
- Location access: Manage location access for apps and services.
Set a screen lock
- On your Android XR device, open the Settings app.

- On the left, pinch and drag to find "Security and privacy."
- Select Security and privacy.
- If recommended, under "Device unlock," select Set a screen lock.
- Select a lock type:
- PIN
- Password
- Biometrics
