User bucket dimension
You can use User bucket to create user segments and audiences and compare campaign performance on similar groups. Analytics assigns your users to buckets based on their hashed User IDs or Client IDs, represented by values 1-100. This ensures that users with the same ID are consistently grouped into the same bucket.
By including a User bucket condition in your audience definitions, you can create multiple audiences that are identical in composition except for their User bucket values. This allows you to run different versions of a campaign to multiple audiences with identical demographics and determine which performs best.
Example
If you want to split "Users that use the App less than 3 times per week" into multiple buckets, you can segment them into test and control groups:
- Bucket A receives an in-app notification.
- Bucket B is targeted with paid media.
- Bucket C acts as the control group, receiving no intervention.
This setup allows you to analyze differences in user behavior and the effectiveness of each tactic compared to the control group.
