In July 2025, Google will update the Cryptocurrencies and related products policy to clarify the scope and requirements for the advertisement of cryptocurrency related business and services.
Beginning July 2025, advertisers offering Cryptocurrency Exchanges and Software Wallets targeting Canada may advertise those products and services when they meet the following requirements and are certified by Google.
Canada (Cryptocurrency Exchanges and Software Wallets)
Google allows ads promoting cryptocurrency exchanges and software wallets targeting Canada as long as the advertiser is registered with FINTRAC (CANAFE) as a money services business. Any other local legal requirements must also be complied with.
As a reminder, we expect all advertisers to comply with the local laws for any area that their ads target. This policy will apply globally to all accounts that advertise these financial products. For more details, see About restricted financial products certification.
