On December 4, 2024, we announced a new Google Ads Dating and Companionship Ads policy. This policy introduces a mandatory certification process for advertisers wishing to run dating and/or companionship-related ads through Google Ads.
We are making two updates to the initial announcement:
- Enforcement Timeline: The initial enforcement date of March 4, 2025, has been changed to April 9, 2025. After this date, uncertified dating and companionship advertisers will not be permitted to run ads.
- Aggregators update: As of April 9, 2025, aggregators promoting general or restricted dating and companionship content as defined by this policy will be eligible to continue serving ads with proper certification. Aggregator ads will be in the restricted category and will be eligible to serve on Search with age/country restrictions. Certification for dating and companionship aggregators will begin on February 25, 2025. Other dating and companionship advertisers may continue to apply for certification.
We are also making minor editorial changes for clarity.
