Third-Party Ad Serving Borders
Google provides translated versions of the Advertising Policies Help Center, though they're not meant to change the content of the policies. The English version is the official language used to enforce Google Ads policies. To view this article in a different language, use the language dropdown at the bottom of the page.
The Google Ads policy on third-party ad serving borders will change around early July 2011. We will change our policy to allow ads without a border to serve as long as the background and edges of the ad aren't a solid color and are easily distinguishable from the publisher's content. The change will affect all countries. We made this decision in order to simplify our policies about non-text ad formats. After the new policy goes into effect, our requirements for third-party ad serving will be updated to reflect this change.
