Update to Political Content Policy (December 2020)
Google provides translated versions of the Advertising Policies Help Center, though they're not meant to change the content of the policies. In early December 2020, Google will update its Political content policy to include coverage for Taiwan election ads. This will include the following changes:
Election ads in Taiwan are ads that feature any of the following:
- A political party, current elected officeholder, or candidate for the office of President, Vice President, member of the Legislative Yuan, or the following six municipal mayoral offices: Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Taichung City, Tainan City, and Kaohsiung City;
All advertisers running election ads in Taiwan must be verified by Google. Verification to run election ads in Taiwan will be available starting mid-November 2020. Information about verification requirements can be found here.
