Create charts in Interactive reports (Beta)

This feature is in Beta
Charts in Interactive reports will be rolling out to all networks over the coming days. When the feature is available in your network, you’ll notice the "Charts" option at the top of your reports, next to "Export." Watch the release notes for when this feature becomes generally available.

You can create a variety of data visualizations in your Interactive reports. Use the "Charts" feature to quickly represent reporting data as a:

  • Line chart
  • Bar chart
  • Pie chart

You can choose to display all three types of charts at once. The metrics or dimensions selected for your report will be applied to the charts.

Some of the charts have specific requirements. For example, line charts require the "Date" dimension. To learn more, review requirements by chart type.

For best results, create charts in reports that don’t use the split option. If split is selected, the charts display data only for the first date range column.

Create a chart

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. Click Reporting and then Interactive reports.
  3. Select an existing report, or create a new report.
Learn more about creating an Interactive report.
  4. Select a date range.
Note that if you apply a date comparison, the chart shows data for the selected current period, but not the prior period.
  5. Add metrics or dimensions.
Tip: To enable Charts, your report needs at least one metric. Note that line charts require the "Date" dimension. If you don’t want the Date column to show in your results table, you can hide the column.
  6. Click Charts and select an option: Add line chart, Add bar chart, or Add pie chart.

Add more charts

You can add up to 20 charts to a report. Multiple charts typically display in rows of 3 to 5, depending on your screen size.

For example, for a side-by-side comparison, you can add two line charts, and then select different dimensions on the chart menus.

Alternatively, to highlight different aspects of the data, you can add one of each type of chart (Line, Bar, and Pie). These are just a few examples.

To add another chart:

  1. In your report with a chart, click Chart and select a type of chart to add, such as a line chart.
  2. To reorder charts, in the top-left corner of a chart, click and drag left or right.
  3. To change what each chart displays, click Edit and make your selections, such as for metrics or dimensions.

In a report with charts, choose an option:

  • To hide charts, click Charts and then select Hide charts.
  • To show charts you hid, click Charts and select Show charts.
  • To permanently delete a chart, on a chart, click Delete.
