Tips to create agents with AI
To quickly automate routine tasks across Google Workspace and more, you can describe a workflow in Google Workspace Flows and Gemini will try to create it for you.
For best results, follow these guidelines in your requests:
- Say when the agent should start
- Specify people by email address
- Say which apps to use
- Avoid unsupported content

Say when the agent should start
Your workflow runs only when certain conditions are met. Gemini needs to know what those are, such as on a specific schedule, when you get a message. The more details you give, the more likely Gemini will set up your agent correctly.

Specify people by email address
Gemini needs guidance to figure out which people to include in your agent. Use their email address to make sure it knows who you mean.

Avoid unsupported content
Gemini in Workspace Flows is constantly improving, but there are a few things to avoid in your requests for now:
- Enter requests in English.
- Only link to files in Drive or other websites. Gemini can’t use links to calendar events or Meet video conferences.
- Specify people by email address, rather than an @mention.
- External apps and services, including add-on steps you install and integrations steps.
