@Abe It's an assignment. You're assigning a value to the JSON.stingify property. The function on the right-hand side is a function expression.

@Abe Miessler, it's a property definition. var a = function() { ... } defines a variable named a which has the anonymous function as a value. Same with JSON.stringify = function() { ... }.
