On a new Surface 3, invoking ssh from a standard cygwin mintty window gives the diagnostic, "Pseudo-terminal will not be allocated because stdin is not a terminal. Invoking exactly the same program from a Windows command window works. I have no difficulty with ssh under cygwin on two other computers.
