For me, that has to read 'echo -e "033円c"' or it doesn't work. :-P~~~

It certainly does: the ESC-c sequence doesn't reset the scrollback buffer
position for me.
Of course, I'm using a DOS prompt and CYGWIN=notty. YMMV!
