Always install with 'setup.exe'. Never "just unzip" a file if you don't understand and/or aren't willing to endure the consequences. At this point, I'd recommend removing the files you unzipped and then uninstalling V8.x via 'setup.exe' and installing the mentioned tarball via 'setup.exe'.
