new sh doesn't translate Unix-style paths for Perl?

What does the first line of make-version-info.pl look like? Functionality
shouldn't have changed.
Since you're using a non-Cygwin perl it's not going to understand `perl
/m/foo.pl', you'll have to use `perl m:/foo.pl' and if that doesn't work `perl
m:\\foo.pl' or `perl "m:\foo.pl"' should.
