Mounting a SCSI Exabyte

Can I mount a SCSI Exabyte tape drive with Cygwin. I would like to extract files
from a tape written with 'tar' under Unix. How can 'tar' see the exabyte tape 
drive connected to my PC running Win98 and Cygwin?
