For sure there is a lot of differences between the wiki we are running and the one in the repository today. We need to know what will be changed by doing the upgrade and whether changes and new features are suitable for our context or not. About testing, I don't think it is possible now. We are very busy too. One thing is sure, once we start doing it, you will hear from us. Best Regards, -- Sabri.

Hi all, When looking for Phpwiki's latest release I found that it is the 1.3.14 released on Jul 01 2007! I think there was a lot of work done on phpwiki since that date, mainly Marc-Etienne's work. Marc-Etienne, Reini, What's your release plan ? Is there a new release in the next upcoming days ? Thanks for the answer. With best regards, -- Sabri LABBENE.
I am installing PHPWiki for the first time on a Mac Server running Mac OS X Server 10.5.7. When all is installed and the DB is setup, I get a blank page in the browser when I try to visit index.php. I have scoured the web and can't find any way to fix the problem. Does anyone know how to fix this issue so that our organization can move forward with this wiki solution? -- Brandon

I confirm. Most of the changes we've made on phpwiki are related to its integration into codendi. So they wouldn't be relevant for contribution to PhpWiki. We have also developed a wysiwyg wiki editor for phpwiki and it is based on wikiwyg library. This is part of Phpwiki sources since I have started to contribute it some time ago. But, the contributed version is not complete and there still some bugs not resolved. The feature can be switched on/off from a config option and is labeled as beta. Due to quality reasons we have decided to discontinue the wysiwyg wiki feature from codendi. We will re-integrate it in the future if it will be smoothly integrated in phpwiki and provides quality level needed for production environments. Everybody is encouraged to put hands on the code and enhance it. Some changes are Codendi only (mainly related to user/group/permissions) I think it would be useless to contribute it. The other big one is the database related stuff to manage one wiki per project. We proposed it to Reini when we developed it but the patch was refused. For the other changes, maybe Sabri could detail a bit more but as far as I remember this mostly adaptation to make the integration into Codendi smoother. Hi all, Some of you might know that both Sabri LABBENE and I work on forge called Codendi (formally known as CodeX) and we integrated PhpWiki since 4 years. Xerox (owner of Codendi) decided to distribute more widely its product (under GPLv2) and is available for free download at http://www.codendi.org/. You will be able to see the modification we did to integrate PhpWiki in the forge: - one wiki per project - usage of forge user, group and permissions model - etc. Best regards, Manuel
Hello Reini, Thank you for your correction. I have another problem with Javascript. The sortable tables no longer work. You moved the code in ./themes/default/sortable.js to ./themes/default/wikicommon.js but it seems that you made some changes that have broken the code. Original code: function sortables_init() { // Find all tables with class sortable and make them sortable if (!document.getElementsByTagName) return; tbls = document.getElementsByTagName("table"); for (ti=0;ti<tbls.length;ti++) { thisTbl = tbls[ti]; if (((' '+thisTbl.className+' ').indexOf("sortable") != -1) && (thisTbl.id)) { ts_makeSortable(thisTbl); } } } New code: function sortables_init() { var idnum = 0; // Find all tables with class sortable and make them sortable var tables = getElementsByClassName(document, "table", "sortable"); for (var ti = 0; ti < tables.length ; ti++) { if (!tables[ti].id) { tables[ti].setAttribute('id','sortable_table_id_'+idnum); ++idnum; } ts_makeSortable(tables[ti]); } } I get an error: getElementsByClassName is not defined. Again, this works in Monobook but not in other themes. Can you please fix? Hello Reini, I am currently testing your last modifications. Javascript is now broken in themes other than Monobook and Sidebar. wikicommon.js is loaded in all themes and calls "histrowinit();" that is defined only in themes Monobook an Sidebar. grep -r histrowinit . ./themes/MonoBook/wikibits.js: histrowinit(); ./themes/MonoBook/wikibits.js:function histrowinit () { ./themes/default/wikicommon.js: histrowinit(); ./themes/Sidebar/wikibits.js:function histrowinit() { ./themes/Sidebar/wikibits.js: histrowinit(); Can you please repair this? Hello Reini, Thank you for your commits. I will test them. I have committed a number of things also, the major one is two new preferences allowing: - to be notified of major modifications only; - not to be notified from your own modifications. My commits have been tested when integrated in Gforge, I will have to do some testing in plain Phpwiki. Some minor corrections will be committed soon, to-morrow if I have time. I am still stuck on this. According to phpinfo, gdbm is enabled, but I cannot get past the error: Fatal PhpWiki Error lib/DbaDatabase.php:32: Fatal[256]: dba_open(pages/wiki_pagedb.gdbm,c): Driver initialization failed for handler: gdbm: File open error Does anyone know any simple tests to check if gdbm is actually working? -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Re%3A-phpwiki-gdbm-tp23605134p23733255.html Sent from the phpwiki-talk mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

You can try for example to setup your own local phpwiki with a php with gdbm support, export all your pages there and impiort into your live wiki, after you changed the database backend to a driver which is supported in your new php. > Same issue with chmod 777 so don't think it's permissions. > > Linux n15 2.6.20.2mtv7 #12 > phpwiki 1.3.2-jeffs-hacks > PHP 4.4.8 > > Any pointers you have would be greatly appreciated, even to a mailing list > on phpwiki that is actually active anymore. > > Stuck, > > Christopher Robbins > > -- Reini Urban http://phpwiki.org/ http://murbreak.at/
Hello, I had a phpwiki I'd installed in 2002 go bad on me when my host upgraded to php5, seemingly because gdbm is not supported (my database was a flat file wiki_pagedb.gdbm). I am completely lost on how to install gdbm, or port this flat file database to supported flatfile (dba handlers: cdb cdb_make db4 inifile flatfile ) I've trawled the web and am still clueless. Does anyone with more knowledge than me have any advice? Thank you, Chris
