Discussion
[change source ]Keep- found a bunch of stuff by typing "Joey Fisher" and "hockey" into Google. For example, see http://www.outsports.com/campus/2007/0221fisher.htm Kansan (talk) 02:48, 27 February 2010 (UTC) [reply ]
- Delete - there is no such article on the English Wikipedia. Classical Esther ♣ 03:44, 27 February 2010 (UTC) [reply ]
- Delete I don't see a need to keep this article. —§ stay (sic)! 10:03, 27 February 2010 (UTC) [reply ]
- Speedy Keep per Kansan, and the fact the article says that he's the first openly gay college hockey player makes him notable. Sources-- † CR 90 10:34, 27 February 2010 (UTC) [reply ]
- Are there any sources that say he is the first openly gay college hockey player? All the sources seem to say he is an openly gay hockey player, but I'm having difficulty finding one that says he is the first. Either way (talk) 14:54, 27 February 2010 (UTC) [reply ]
- Comment: BTW, just because enWP doesn't have the article doesn't mean we shouldn't. I consider the same vice-versa, Just because enWP might have some articles doesn't mean we should.-- † CR 90 10:38, 27 February 2010 (UTC) [reply ]
- CR90 is right, we are not en. What sources are we looking at? The only one I can find is the outsports.com one...--Gordonrox24 | Talk 16:08, 27 February 2010 (UTC) [reply ]
- Keep per discussion above.--Sinbad (talk) 13:42, 28 February 2010 (UTC) [reply ]
- Delete Non-notable individual, no sources back-up the claim he was the first openly gay college hockey player Soup Dish (talk) 13:51, 28 February 2010 (UTC) [reply ]
- Delete Was deleted a few times at en, because he is non-notable. Each time it changes the reason, the first time they tried to claim he was the first player of ice hockey period to claim it which was untrue, now they are claiming college. Which may or may not be true, having researched him a few times I can confirm I have never found a source saying he was the first anything. His notability has to be backed up with references prooving it and so far there are none. -DJSasso (talk) 03:17, 1 March 2010 (UTC) [reply ]
- Comment I've now removed the "first openly gay..." claim as it was an unreferenced claim in a BLP. This article is now arguably suitable for speedy deletion Soup Dish (talk) 13:21, 2 March 2010 (UTC) [reply ]
