New IFS-TC Members Nomination and Election

This year, the Nominations and Elections Subcommittee of the IEEE Information Forensics and Security Technical Committee (IFS-TC) has called for nomination of new IFS-TC members (by September 30) and the new IFS-TC Vice Chair (by October 20). The nomination material for both calls shall be submitted to the IFS Nominations and Elections Subcommittee (email alias: ifs-election@ieee.org) by the corresponding deadline. The subcommittee members include Siwei Lyu, Karthik Nandakumar, Benedetta Tondi and Juan Ramón Troncoso-Pastoriza.

New IFS-TC Members Nomination and Election

The elected new members will serve from 2020年1月1日 to 2022年12月31日. There are 9 TC members whose term expires at the end of 2019, so we expect to elect between 9 and 13 new members this time.
  • Candidates can be self-nominated or nominated by current TC members, retired TC members, as well as established people in the IFS field.
  • The nominator should inform the nominee in advance.
  • One nominator can nominate more than one candidate.
  • The nominee should be an IEEE-SPS member or will join if elected.
  • Prospective candidates must submit a nomination form (see attached) and a 1-page CV.

  • Nomination Period: August 5 - September 30 (both included)
  • Election Period: October 1 – October 13
  • Final Results Announcement: October 16

IFS-TC Vice Chair Nomination and Election

This year, the TC needs to elect a Vice Chair, whose one-year term is from 2020年1月1日 to 2020年12月31日. Vice Chair elections take place every two years. The Vice Chair position automatically succeeds to the position of Chair (2021-2022), then Past Chair.
  • Nominations for Vice Chair shall be restricted to individuals who are currently serving or have previously served as elected members of the Technical Committee.
  • The nominee must confirm in writing his/her willingness to serve and perform the duties described in the Society’s Bylaws, Policies and Procedures if elected.
  • Each nominee must submit a one-page position statement and a one-page CV.
  • Nominations for Vice Chair shall be restricted to individuals who are currently serving or have previously served as elected members of the Technical Committee.
  • The nominee must confirm in writing his/her willingness to serve and perform the duties described in the Society’s Bylaws, Policies and Procedures if elected.
  • Each nominee must submit a one-page position statement and a one-page CV.
  • Vice Chair nominees are not eligible to vote in Vice Chair elections.
