Getting to Pride
We strongly encourage taking public transit
Leave the Car at Home
With over 500,000 people attending Pride weekend, parking is nearly impossible and traffic is extremely heavy. Public transportation is the fastest, easiest, and most sustainable way to get to Pride.
BART
Best Option: Civic Center/UN Plaza Station is one block from the Celebration at Civic Center Plaza.
BART provides frequent service from throughout the Bay Area with longer trains on Pride weekend to accommodate crowds. All downtown SF stations provide easy access to the Parade route along Market Street.
Muni
Multiple Muni lines serve the Civic Center area. The F-Market historic streetcar line runs along the Parade route.
Download the MuniMobile app for easy ticketing. Clipper Card users receive transfer discounts.
Key Routes: 5, 6, 7, 9, 19, 21, 47, 49, F-Market
Caltrain
Coming from the Peninsula or South Bay? Take Caltrain to the San Francisco (4th & King) station, then transfer to Muni or a short rideshare to Civic Center.
Caltrain runs on a convenient schedule throughout Pride weekend.
Bike
Biking is a great option! Bike parking will be available near the Celebration entrance. SF has an extensive network of bike lanes and protected paths.
Bay Wheels bike share stations are located throughout downtown SF.
Transit Tips for Pride Weekend
Arrive Early
Transit gets crowded, especially on Sunday. Give yourself extra time.
Use Clipper or Mobile Pay
Save time with a Clipper Card or the MuniMobile app. Avoid cash.
Download Apps

Expect Crowds
Be patient and kind. We're all celebrating together!
If You Must Drive
We strongly discourage driving. Parking is extremely limited, and many streets will be closed for the Parade. If you must drive, consider:
- Parking in an outer neighborhood and taking Muni/BART to Civic Center
- Using rideshare and getting dropped off several blocks away from the event
- Arriving very early (before 9am) if you need to park downtown
Note: Market Street from Embarcadero to Civic Center will be closed for the Parade on Sunday, along with numerous cross streets.
