Summit History: Building a Movement

2025 - Third Annual

Human Rights Summit at Commonwealth Club

June 26, 2025

SF Pride partnered with The Michelle Meow Show to convene the third annual Human Rights Summit at Commonwealth Club World Affairs.

Special Focus: A significant portion of the summit was dedicated to highlighting the treatment of queer migrants and centering the voices of impacted communities, particularly in response to the case of Andry José Hernández Romero.

The summit brought together queer and migrant leaders to discuss resources, strategies, and collective action for LGBTQ+ liberation in an increasingly challenging political climate.

2024 - Second Annual

Continuing the Conversation

June 2024

The second annual Human Rights Summit continued SF Pride's commitment to bringing together activists, leaders, and advocates to address critical LGBTQ+ rights issues.

Building on the momentum from the inaugural summit, the 2024 gathering focused on strategies to counter growing attacks on trans rights and LGBTQ+ equality nationwide.

2023 - Inaugural

Launching a Movement

June 22, 2023

SF Pride launched the inaugural Human Rights Summit at Commonwealth Club, bringing together leaders from across the country to address unprecedented attacks on LGBTQ+ freedom and human rights.

Keynote Speaker: Imani Rupert-Gordon, Executive Director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights

Closing Speaker: Montana State Representative Zooey Zephyr, who had been silenced by the Montana legislature for defending trans youth
