Publication on the occasion of the exhibition Drawing Typologies, Proposal for Municipal Art Acquisitions in the Stedelijk Museum CS, June- September 2007.
This publication is designed by Luna Maurer making use of Text Pencil, a Scriptographer typographic drawing tool developed by Jonathan Puckey.
Luna Maurer: "It is an investigation in how we can use new technological developments in order to make the design more human, direct and that leaves space for imperfectness. By drawing all the texts of the catalogue by hand (with this tool) the whole book receives the character of a living organism. It also shows the possibilities of combining technology and the notion of 'handmade' (or drawing with its directness) in new ways."
nice, very nice one, and what a load of hard work! congrats!
cool! very cool
it's for illustator?
Sure it is!
Get it right here.
Funny.
It makes me thinking of a picture drawn by Daumier in the XIX's in France, which was made to be linked to the poem of Alfred de Musset! this french poem which is really laughing counts the story of a man who needs urgently to go to the toilets. But he is so on an urgency that he can't wait for this thing, and he makes it in a corner of the street. And on the wall, there are many pictures, flies, ans so on, on which we can read slang words about sex and the composition is closed to yours ! That incredible !...but beautiful.
The poem which is not easy to translate begins by
You who comes here
to let haevy things you wear...
Thanks
