So I edit say line 2153 of my program inside the RunBASIC editor. Let's say its kind of tricky to put the new ideas down. In order not to be a sorry victim of power breakdowns or instable computer whatsoevers, I go up and save my work. OK.
AND THEN I REALLY GET PUNISHED!!
Because I have to go back to line 2153 - how the heck do I get there reasonably fast without all that fumbling????

Or do I miss something here ?

The Run BASIC editor isn't the most user friendly, but there's good news. You can

Open up the project in Run BASIC.
Load the RB file into your favorite text editing program (Notepad, Wordpad, etc.)
Make changes to the file in that text editor.
Save the file.
Use the Refresh Editor from Disk option to place the new code in the RB editor.
Run the new code.

The Run BASIC editor will still be at the top of the code, but your working editor will remain where it is. Plus, you can use the tab key to indent your code which you can't do in the Run BASIC editor.

Udo,

I don't think your missing anything here. I haven't asked for it, but I would like to see the editor changed so the screen doesn't refresh with every save for the reasons you have mentioned here.

In the meantime, I use Internet Explorer's search feature to go to the nearest branch label. For example, if your line 2153 is within your branch label [myCurrentBranch] or whatever it might be, do a "Ctrl + F" to bring up the find box, type in [myCurrentBranch] and press next. That should get you in the area a little quicker.

Beyond that, external editors can be used and the "Refresh editor from disk" button can be used.

Or simply use your favorite editor.
Make changes in your editor.
In the editor hit <CTRL-A><CTRL-C> (save all in cache)
In Run Basic hit <CTRL-A><CTRL-V> (replace all in Run Basic)

Continue the process until you have what you want, then save it.

Works for me..

If your editor has <tab> be wary of <tabs> in comment lines
