I've looked through the Liberty Basic manual, and didn't find anything... Does Run BASIC have an MD5 encryption function?

No, and it won't for the initial release. What would you like to use it for? Could you provide a hypothetical code example?

Well, now that I re-reread my response, I guess that was slightly snarky. Sorry.

BTW Bill, what is "almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea"? Will it help if I put a paper bag on my head and lay down?

Some pieces of the Flickr Api and Amazon's S3 services require hashing various keys for authentication services. That said, when I first asked I didn't realize the thing I was trying to do didn't need that.

Carl: It's from Hitchhiker's Guide. I seriously doubt that putting a paper bag on your head would help.

I'm using it as part of my collection of doublespeak words that can be used to silently protest growing socialist and anti-Christian trends in this country. Yes, I'm one of those freaks - don't tell no one ;)

At any rate, I think somebody posted an MD5 function for LB4 that could easily be ported if there is no in-built RB function. I'll be looking for that...

Your code isn't hosted. Your application is hosted. With Run BASIC your code can be located on a different machine if you really want it to be.

Really? Do you have to encrypt PHP, Perl, Ruby, CFM, ASP, Python, Flash, and AJAX web applications code?

It's on the server, but the source code is not available to the public. Carl fixed this a while back, so the source code is only avaible via the IDE.
