Installation on D: drive - icon images missing

Just installed Ver 1.0 build 2.33h on my Windows 2000 system (currently up-to-date svc packwise).
The icon images are missing at the top of the project window, ie., the image/buttons for "Create new project file", "Open...", "Save...", & "Run Program". Instead the universal "x" appears to demonstrate a broken link.
Functionally the buttons perform as they should, ie., they create, open, save, & run.
I may be answering my own problem, but, in spite of the installation urging that rbp be installed in C:\rbp, I altered the directory to D:\rbp.
My C: drive with windows is limited and so I have installed all but a few programs on a larger 250gb D: drive.
I changed nothing else during installation except the C to a D.
When I look at the preferences, they correctly show the directories as D:\rbp...
Nevertheless, is that why the images are missing from the buttons?
Will other functions not perform properly also (as I get further involved) if I do not make space and reinstall on my C: drive?
thank you
