We need YOU to help promote Run BASIC!

Yes, we need you, not that guy to your left or right! A month or so ago I posted a message with this theme and got some buy-in. Let's make Run BASIC as widespread as possible.

Run BASIC really is the beginning of a new category of programming tool. If I do say so myself there really isn't anything like it. If you really like Run BASIC and feel it deserves to be used widely, please think of:

-Some friends that you think would really benefit
-Someone at work who can be more productive
-A programming forum where your testimony about RB would be welcome
-How you can blog about it
-Writing a review and posting it on the web
-Putting up a Run BASIC hosted site, and leaving it up 24/7 so we can show people that it really does work
-A favorite tech magazine or columnist you can write a letter to

Even if you only send email to a handful of friends, that can go a long way.

"Run BASIC" on Google gets 135,000 hits. Starting to make waves....

Yeah, you guys are truly amazing. How do you do it? ;)

Seriously though, the Run BASIC site has been online for a year now, so maybe a couple hundred or so of those 135,000 are about Run BASIC.

As soon as that Win2000 bug gets fixed, you can bet I'll put my server back up. Until then, whilst I workon things internally, I'll be sure to blog about it.

Is there a detailed tutorial on how the typical home user can get set up for hosting ? There will be a vast number of people eager and willing to try and provide the demo sites. Most like me will have a DSL Modem/Router that they have never looked at.

The "problem" with that idea is that the procedure varies from modem/router to modem/router. I could show you how to do it on my router, but there'd be no guaruntee yours would be the same. That said, I'll try to put together a guide, with screen shots, when I get home tonight. Maybe that'll be a start anyway.

Thanks. You have some experience with PHP, right? Do you think you could write a blog entry comparing RB and PHP? If you look in alt.lang.basic there is a thread I started a few days ago titled Run BASIC to be released this weekend! and one of the posters alexcom...@gmail.com would like a comparison between PHP and RB.

how bout submitting run basic to software magazine sites asking them to check it out and doing a review of it? did someone say this already?
