Firstly, thank you for your reply, Stefan - much appreciated.

Regarding the comment about SQLite: I had got the impression that together with WAL (write-ahead logging), SQLite was quite good at low to medium volumes for multiple users. Surely Run BASIC online apps are not restricted to one user at a time ?

Please could someone put me straight on this. My aim is to write a small online system, to be queried and/or updated perhaps 3 or 4 times a day in total, by up to 30 users, using SQLite, and "hobbyist" level web hosting. Is this feasible with Run BASIC ? I really hope so.

Many thanks.

I am testing my app on my home WiFi network, prior to letting my friends loose on it. When I run the app on 2 PCs, and click a button on each PC simultaneously to execute a query (not necessarily the same one), I frequently get a page saying:

Error: "/seaside/go/%5Cdefault.css/runbasicpersonal" not found.

I have seen the 2 posts in "Run BASIC Coding Questions" (from ajmcgee , Jun 7, 2011) and in "Bug Reports" (from melvin2001, Jun 12, 2009), but neither has a solution.

Please, is there a fix for this ? I have tried journal_mode=WAL, synchronous=0, locking_mode=NORMAL (and other suggested combinations), but nothing has stopped it yet.

(My Run BASIC Console says it is v1.01, build 2.44)

It would be great to get this resolved. Compared to other methods of building web apps, this is by far the most useable and friendly system I have found, and I am keen to stick with it.

Many thanks.

What is happening here isn't exactly clear.

I was running a small program (see below)

It gave me a server error I wondered why...

let me know If you've got any idea...

I have another program trying to run but it just keeps saying waiting for server...

and does nothing.

it has a few "input" so it has to stop when it gets to each of those and doesn't generated much output..

It has got me stumpped what is going on... :o

Maybe some one can figure this all out or maybe the server got
bogged down...

here is the first program...

y=1.06
for i=1 to 15
print " ";i;" ";y^i
next i

Seems simple enought but why a server error on this is crazy...
::)

The other program generally takes seconds to run and produce
all the out put but is still chugging away...

Since the last one sort of took to much time I started a new

I was working on a program that used a loop lable.

If the condition was not met then it continued looping till done.

i started adding stats to be computed and all of a sudden

It says.

Runtime Error in program 'untitled': if nshr<shr then [ilp]Branch label not found: [ilp]

It has really got me stumped as to what is going on.

Wierd man really wierd...

The lable is there in the program and so is the loop back to it..
But the program can't find it ... mmmm I'm shaking my head on this one... :o

This is a browser problem..
Probably easiest to simply place the buttons at the top of the page.

However this JavaScript code should work:

<html>
<head>
<script>
function moveWin()
{
window.scroll(0,10000);
setTimeout('moveWin();',1000);
}
</script>
</head>
<body onLoad='moveWin();'>

There are times I'd like to avoid using CLS, if possible, and rather have the output scroll to the bottom of the page each time the page is refreshed. So the user can just scroll up to see what the previous, off screen text says.

This seems to work natively with Firefox at least, but only up to a point with Mobile Safari (iPad). Seems to me that once there are enough rows(?) in the output page, the page no longer automatically scrolls to the bottom. One can scroll manually to the bottom of the page, of course, but this gets tedious when playing a text based game.

So... any ideas how to force scroll to bottom with Runbasic?

Does that mean each console has its own server?
I always use the same port when I click the
Start Run Basic Console... I have the 8080 port setup for a website I am getting there.

How would I know if I got the same server or a different one?

If I ask your machine to fetch a page ...
I would assume your server does a web

url$=httpget$(webfetchurl$)

and returns the results thus my machine is waiting on your machine and your machine is
doing the actual fetch from somewhere on the web.

Is there a way to view the results from the program as it occurs?
Other wise it is a bacth job and I can't really know what is happening till I look at the output.
Even if I print the output to a file then the file buffer don't dump and I still can't see all
the action till the buffer dumps..

Unless there is a way to force the buffer to dump its content.
Other than closing it. Or closing and reopen as append...
