If you downloaded the file before it had a couple of bugs sorry for that. i have tested this one about 30 times(literally) it should work.

Took me a while to wright everything and test it but here it is.
24.210.128.2:81/RunBasicService.zip

RB Mus not be started.

Just extract it anywhere and launch the install.bat file.

If you have RB installed in another place besides "C:\rbp" you need to edit the file called Registry.reg before the install.

Do Not Copy And Paste This. Please edit the Registry.reg file directly.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RunBasicService\Parameters]
"Application"="cmd /c cd \"Path To Run Basic Folder" && start rbp.exe rb.im"

use \\ instead of \ in the path. EXP:"C:\\Windows\\RunBasic"

The setup only has to ran once and the RB server will run regardless weather you are logged on or not.

Also when the service is stopped from the control panel the server will not shutdown until you have logged off or restarted.
if you don't want to do that you can end it in the task manager: Click on the processes tab and select rbp.exe and click end process.

Please tell me if it worked.

Testing Info:
Tested on Windows Xp SP3 RC2

Interesting, bbt. This is useful for setting up a dedicated server on the internet -- it only has to be rebooted or restarted when required, instead of having to go through the startup and logon procedure. That means largely "hands-off" first-level maintenance.

Could you also provide instructions for uninstalling, or at least preventing the RB server from being a service?

Running the remove.bat that came with the zip file should do the trick. Or the service can be disabled in your control panel.

Windows XP:
START>
Control Panel>
Administrative Tools>
Services

Right click the RunBasicService from the list and select property's then from the startup type select disable.

After This Restart.

I'm not sure how to do it in older versions of windows come to think of it i don't think RB supports older versions of windows.
