How To Create a Section Heading

Sections and subsections can help you organize and add structure to Wolfram Notebooks.

Using a Keyboard Shortcut...

You can mix text, computations and section headings in Wolfram Notebooks. The keyboard shortcut for inserting a new section heading cell is typically , but can vary depending on the type of notebook you are editing. You can find the shortcut in the Section item of the Format Style menu:

To insert a section heading cell using a keyboard shortcut, type the keyboard shortcut, then type the cell contents:

Using the Input Chooser...

Access to a menu of cell types is provided by the input chooser that appears when the selection is between cells. To insert a section cell, click the input chooser and select Other style of text:

Choose Format to open the Formatting sidebar:

With the insertion point between cells, choose a style of cell to insert and type the cell content:
