Bridged USDC (Polygon PoS Bridge) — or USDC.e — lets anyone move a compliant, fully reserved dollar token onto Polygon for lightning-fast, low-fee trading and payments. Locked USDC on Ethereum guarantees a 1:1 peg, while Polygon’s PoS chain delivers speed that suits DeFi, gaming and everyday wallet use. Bridged USDC (Polygon PoS Bridge) sits at the heart of Polygon’s liquidity, powering swaps, loans and yield strategies across the network.

USDC.e itself never raised capital; it represents USDC, which is funded by Circle and Coinbase. Circle has secured almost 2ドル billion in venture investment, while Polygon raised 5ドル million via its 2019 IEO and 450ドル million in a 2022 private token sale. Those funds built the infrastructure, incentives and integrations that drive USDC.e adoption.

Polygon PoS bridge contracts were audited by ChainSecurity; USDC.e inherits USDC’s battle-tested ERC-20 code and Circle’s freeze controls. No direct breaches of USDC.e have occurred, but users rely on Polygon validators and the bridged multisig until full migration completes.
