I am looking into an Airbnb in another State to save some money but still live via Airbnb. Most rental properties across America require 3x income compared to the insanely high rental studios or a contract with a roommate situation. Being flexible with my life, I may simply work part time in America and guage which country I will go to next. I may return to Mexico City as it was very vibrant with its parks and artistic atmosphere. It was very dry and that was inconvenient after being in Costa Rica and growing up in the Pacific Northwest. However the vibe in Mexico City is what I imagine NYC used to be like in its heyday. Affordable, vibrant and people passionate and happy with the people around them.. Now, I simply need to lean the language. FYI You can get fast internet anywhere in the world if your Airbnb host is paying for it, alternatively you negotiate a good deal with someone on the ground and get a rental unit for less than an Airbnb. You can make it your own, but remember that an AirBnb gives you flexibility to up and move at your convenience or treat it like your home, but not buy furniture.
I hopped on a plane yesterday and arrived to Guatemala. Please note that if you fly into Guatemala--You must have a flight planned to leave the city or have a work visa. I had to book a flight on Expedia in the San Jose, Costa Rica airport in order for me to book a flight to another destination. Alternatively show a tourist trip information that you're leaving the country via tour bus. I bought a 1 way ticket off to Mexico for April 2nd as it was a cheap ticket and Merida, Mexico was a place I researched and interested in exploring and not overrun with Nomads yet. An hour from the beach and 3.5 hours from La Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.
Information below auto dated for 2014. At that time I was in Shanghai. I just booked a rental car to go to the Caribbean this weekend. I leave March 8th and return on the 11th or 12th. I'm going solo and people are welcome to join me on the adventure if nothing else the drive. Departing San Jose Friday morning from Sabana Park area. I'm going to Puerto Viejo for 2 nights and I'm deciding on going to the volcanoes or beautiful parks. Considering an extra day so I can visit the Thermal hotsprings nearby Cartago. Went with a colleague from Suzhou, China to Phuket. I knocked off a bucket list item: Riding an Elephant along the beach. I went to a Zipline park in the Jungle area. In addition did a tour of the James Bond Islands. Went Kayaking through the stalagmites and into the cave like areas with a guide. In addition saw all sorts of wonderful wildlife. The speedboat adventure was about 4-5 hours if I remember correctly. Best Touristic trip ever! Got to go on a bamboo kayak like old school bamboo sticks tied together. It was a blast and I plan on returning.
I returned to Taiwan to see a friend for CNY.
