Infernape   [Edit ]   [Talk]

Infernape(JPJapanese: ゴウカザル,

Romaji: Goukazaru
)
is a species of Pokémon in the series of the same name. It is a dual-type Fire/Fighting Pokémon that made its first appearance in the fourth generation games Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. It is the final evolution of Chimchar.

Physiology and Behaviour[ ]

Appearances[ ]

Main Pokémon games[ ]

Other Pokémon games[ ]

Super Smash Bros. series[ ]

Infernape appears in the background in the Kalos Pokémon League stage in the Blazing Chamber along with other Fire-type Pokémon, namely Tepig, Blaziken, and Pyroar.

Trophy descriptions[ ]

"Infernape's flames burn like a raging inferno - that's probably how it got its name. The fire on its head never goes out, and the flames on its hands and feet, combined with its unique skills, make Infernape look like it's performing some kind of elaborate fire dance when it fights."

In the anime[ ]

's Infernape

Ash Ketchum's Infernape

Notable trainers owned a Infernape include Ash Ketchum, Flint, Allegra and Lucas. Ash's Infernape, as a Chimchar, was previously owned by Paul until he released it.

Origin and inspiration[ ]

Infernape appears to be based on a monkey. The gold elements in its design, as well as its Japanese name, may be linked to Son Goku, the Japanese interpretation of the character Sun Wukong. Sun Wukong is the main character in the Chinese epic Journey to the West and is a monkey with powerful abilities.

Infernape may be a combination of inferno and ape.
