Who We Are
The Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council is the elected board of 15 soybean farmers who oversee the investment of soybean checkoff dollars into new uses, new and existing markets, research, promotion and education to increase farmer profitability.
How the Checkoff Works
Every time a farmer sells soybeans, one half of one percent of the market price is "checked off." But where does it go from there?
Biodiesel
Soybean oil is used to make biodiesel, a renewable, cleaner-burning diesel replacement. Minnesota is the first state to require the usage of biodiesel year-round.
Grassroots Soybean Promotion
Minnesota is the only state to support organized county soybean boards. With 53 counties represented, the program brings soybean promotion to the local level.
