[edit ]Topic: A milestone of Wikipedia Asian Month and its Future
This online session will be hosted by Betty Chang. Joyce Chen and Reke Wang may also participate in this session and discussion. And it will include a 15-20 minute presentation providing an overview of the current status of Asian Month and introduce the ambassador project. Following that, there will be a 10-15 minutes session to gather everyone’s ideas about the steering community and discussion for questions and interaction. There will be several conversation organized by different region communities and hub within Asia, all session will be communicate in English :

- 12:00 p.m. UTC, September 12, 2024. Joining the Central Asia Community Call.
- 02:00 p.m. UTC, September 14, 2024. Hosting a Community Call for West Asia.
- 12:30 p.m. UTC, September 22, 2024. Joining the South Asia Community Call.
Wikipedia Asian Month Ambassador Program
[edit ]In the past, we referred to "ambassadors" as those who contributed the most edits to articles in various languages. However, in 2024, we are launching the "Asian Month Ambassador Program," aiming to recruit representatives from Southeast & East Asia, South Asia, West Asia, and Central Asia to promote Asian Month and establish connection locally.
If you want to become the ambassador, we hope you:
[edit ]- Have interest in Wikipedia.
- (Preferred) Have experiences in Wikipedia editing or active participation in the Wikipedia community.
- Have communication and organizational skills.
- Can work both independently and as part of a team.
- (Preferred) Have Enthusiasm for promoting Asian culture and knowledge
As an ambassador, you will gain:
[edit ]- Opportunities to contribute to a meaningful Asian initiative.
- Gain experiences in project management and community engagement.
- Flexible volunteer hours to accommodate your schedule.
- Interact with Wikipedians from other countries.
- Special Ambassador Present.
- Certificate of Wikipedia Asian Month Ambassador.
As an ambassador, your responsibilities include:

- Creating a connection platform for local Wiki communities
- Engaging with local Wiki communities and relevant activities in your region
- Ensuring at least one sub-contest activity to promote Asian Month
- Supporting Wikipedia Asian Month organizers in your region

Organizing an International Steering Committee
[edit ]We hope to form a steering committee to collectively decide on the future development and vision of Asian Month. We aim for Asian Month to be more than just an event in November. Through discussions within the steering committee, we wish to build consensus among Asians and discover the value of Asia.
We will be hosting a Conversation Call to gather ideas between late September to early October.
