Description
[edit ]Wikimedia UK is running the second in a series of Skillshares for more experienced Wikipedia editors. AutoWikiBrowser is software which allows users to do batch edits to multiple pages, automating the process of doing the same kind of edits multiple times. If you want to come and learn how to use this tool and become a more advanced Wikipedia editor, please come along to our office from 6pm on May 7, to start at 6.30.
We will have an introduction to the software from prolific Wikipedia editor Rich Farmbrough, and then break out into a workshop where you can get your hands on doing batch editing yourself.
Drinks and snacks will be provided, but please bring a laptop to work on.
If you think you are likely to want to use AWB regularly, then please check en:Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage #Guide for the guidance and then apply at en:Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/AutoWikiBrowser. If you're not sure, or just want to try out the software, we can arrange for a temporary grant of permission to any experienced user for the duration of the event.
