Steward requests/Global permissions
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Requests for global rollback permissions
- Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
- Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request
|
---|
Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} === {{sr-request |status = <!-- don't change this line --> |domain = global <!-- don't change this line --> |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user --> }} ::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC'' The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential. |
Global rollback for Vincent Vega
- Global user: Vincent Vega (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA )
- Not ending before 1 November 2022 12:24 UTC
Hello. I contribute trwiki (sysop, CU), wikidata and meta (GR). Also I am using SWViewer for monitoring small wikis and reverting vandalism. Especially I need this flag for small wikis which I did not get any confirmed rights. Sometimes I get trouble. Thanks for your comments. Vincent Vega msg? 12:24, 27 October 2022 (UTC) [reply ]
- Can't support this time. I have checked some wikis randomly. Most of your edits are page moves during renaming users. —Yahya (talk • contribs.) 16:27, 27 October 2022 (UTC) [reply ]
- Of course it is Yahya I am an active renamer. The problem is when I try to use SWViewer I can not revert vandalism. So that times I needed this flag, especially on small wikis. I am using it when I available not always. If you say these edits are not too much, I can understand. Vincent Vega msg? 17:18, 27 October 2022 (UTC) [reply ]
- You don't need rollback permission for using SWViewer. Stang 18:40, 27 October 2022 (UTC) [reply ]
- Yes I know, because I have used tool for a bit more than 1 year. But in some wikis especially small ones I can not revert edits via SWViewer. Nowadays these errors' frequency rised, that's why I am here. My intention is avoiding abuse filter preventation or CAPTCHA validation. Vincent Vega msg? 18:48, 27 October 2022 (UTC) [reply ]
- Trapped by AF could be a valid reason, and thanks for your clarification here. Stang 18:52, 27 October 2022 (UTC) [reply ]
- Welcome and thanks for your assistance/comment @Stang:. I am explaning myself more clearly with your opinion. Vincent Vega msg? 19:01, 27 October 2022 (UTC) [reply ]

- Hmm. Vincent Vega doesn't seem to be doing much cross-wiki patrol after that, even though they was told their cross-wiki experience was lacking. Is this permission useful for small wikis? Syunsyunminmin 🗨️talk 08:01, 1 November 2022 (UTC) [reply ]
- Yes @Syunsyunminmin:. This permission is useful for all Wikimedia wikis not only small ones. This flag normally contains autoconfirmed, skipcaptcha, editsemiprotected, move and movestable rights. In fact, usually I need autoconfirmed, skipcaptcha and rollback rights on small wikis. Also autoreviewrestore, autopatrol and patrolmarks rights will be useful for me. I am familiar these ones at my main wiki, I do not think I will have a problem about vandalism. At least "why local small wiki users spend time for checking when I revert a vandalism edit?" In my opinion this flag will be useful for users and also small wikis if GR doesn't misuse.
- Actually after my request I do not want to exaggerate my cross wiki action while this period. If I would this it will be insincere behavior. I am on my routine. Vincent Vega msg? 08:20, 1 November 2022 (UTC) [reply ]
- Furthermore, I couldn't find any records of what you reported to GSR, did you know this page existed? Syunsyunminmin 🗨️talk 08:35, 1 November 2022 (UTC) [reply ]
- Yes I know this page,I am familiar to Meta. I am using IRC Stewards channel if I needed. Actually I requested blocks twice; one time vandal has been blocked, one time we waited for a delayed rollback. Usually vandals stopping after my edit I do not need so much. Vincent Vega msg? 08:58, 1 November 2022 (UTC) [reply ]

- @Vincent Vega Non-voting comment You can use a tool like User:Krinkle/Tools/Global SUL to create local accounts at all public Wikimedia wikis. At the majority of wikis, users who registered more than 4 days ago are considered autoconfirmed (which exempts you from many AFs and from CAPTCHA as well). By using Global SUL tool, you would become autoconfirmed at most wikis after 4 days. Of course, GR's still helpful regardless, but this might be helpful if your request does not pass. Sincerely, Martin Urbanec (talk) 14:29, 30 October 2022 (UTC) [reply ]
- Thank you so much @Martin Urbanec:. If I would fail for this request because of unsufficient cross wiki activity, I will try this tool ASAP. Vincent Vega msg? 18:40, 30 October 2022 (UTC) [reply ]

Global rollback for Brewster239
- Global user: Brewster239 (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA )
- Not ending before 7 November 2022 09:33 UTC
Hello. I'm requesting global rollback permission, as that would help me when I'm reverting vandalism on small wikis. I have been monitoring small wikis with SWViewer since October 2021, having made almost 1300 undos with SWViewer and many more with other methods. I'm active rollbacker on fiwiki, so I have experience with the rollback tool. --Brewster239 (T·C·CA) 09:33, 2 November 2022 (UTC) [reply ]

Global IP block exempt for 不慎言行非法师魔女
- Global user: 不慎言行非法师魔女 (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA )
This is a request on behalf of the user concerned. This user want to add interwiki links to Wikidata but IP is globally blocked (as an open proxy). The user can not edit Meta-Wiki either. Note previous request at Steward_requests/Global_permissions/2020-09#Global_IP_block_exempt_for_慎言慎行老法师. The user is currently blocked in scowiki but can not appeal there either because of the global block.--GZWDer (talk) 16:01, 15 August 2022 (UTC) [reply ]
