Readability also includes more than just the source code; as has already 
been stated:
 if(cond) {
 stmt1;
+ stmt2;
 }
vs.
-if(cond)
+if(cond) {
 stmt1;
+ stmt2;
+}
I find the diff version that already had braces in place much more readable.
