Sounds like a regression in 2.5 (and in 2.6, and in 3.0). Probably due to the switch to the new AST-based compiler. Can you file a bug? I think we should leave 2.5 alone (too much risk of breaking code) but fix it in 2.6 and 3.0 if we can. --Guido On Fri, Jun 27, 2008 at 12:07 PM, tomer filiba <tomerfiliba at gmail.com> wrote: > the following code works on python 2.5: >>>>> def f(**kwargs): > ... print kwargs > ... >>>> f(a=5,b=7,a=8) > {'a': 8, 'b': 7} >>>>>> but fails on python2.4, saying that "a" is given twice. > is this a bug or a feature? >>> -tomer >> _______________________________________________ > Python-Dev mailing list > Python-Dev at python.org > http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/python-dev > Unsubscribe: > http://mail.python.org/mailman/options/python-dev/guido%40python.org >> -- --Guido van Rossum (home page: http://www.python.org/~guido/)
