I have been trying to get a tape drive to work in my netbsd-current
box for a while now with no luck. I have tried a couple different
drives, controllers, and the the error is *always* the same... When
the mt command or tar is used to try and access the drive, I get errors
about the drive timing out. The tape drives I have tried are the HP 35480
and the TANDBERG TDC 4200. The controllers both adaptec 1522A's.
System is a Pentium 100, with the Intel chipset, and onboard ide controllers.
My config file and a clip from the messages is included. I appreciate any
help I can get regarding this. I really need to do a full back up soon.
Also, if there are any suggested tape drives/controllers to use, then please
send me your suggestions. I need atleast 2 Gig tape drives...
