Hydrogeology Journal

Official Journal of the International Association of Hydrogeologists

Publishing model:
Hybrid

Overview

Hydrogeology Journal was founded in 1992 to foster understanding of hydrogeology; to describe worldwide progress in hydrogeology; and to provide an accessible forum for groundwater scientists, researchers, engineers, and practitioners in developing and industrialized countries. Since then, the journal has earned a large worldwide readership.

Its peer-reviewed research articles integrate subsurface hydrology and geology with supporting disciplines, such as: geochemistry, geophysics, geomorphology, geobiology, geostatistics, fluid mechanics, surface-water hydrology, tectonics, numerical modeling, water engineering, economics, and social sciences. Articles explore theoretical and applied aspects of hydrogeologic and groundwater sciences, including studies ranging from local areas and short time periods to global problems and geologic time; innovative instrumentation and modeling techniques; water-resource and groundwater related energy- and mineral-resource evaluations; and overviews of hydrogeologic systems of interest in various regions.

Special Issues and Topical Collections can be found on this Springer Link site. Among the collections are reviews, profiles of eminent hydrogeologists, and also pedagogical ‘Foundations’ articles, which can serve educational purposes. See the Journal updates tab for announcements about the latest Editors’ Choice articles; a summary list (pdf) of all Editors’ Choice articles going back to 2010 can be found on the website of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH). Hydrogeology Journal is the official journal of the IAH; further information and membership benefits can be found at: http://iah.org/.
