• (4/97) I'm writing an 80-page (est.) introductory chapter on Python for an upcoming programming languages book. More details will appear here as they are made public (see update on my main web page).

• (2/97) I'll be giving a 1-hour talk on Python, at the March meeting of the FRUUG (front range UNIX users group). See the FRUUG's site for more details. Slides from the talk are available here; a copy of the full abstract is available here.
  
  
• (2/97) You can now download updated "Programming Python" program examples from the new example diffs page. The corrected examples (4) appear in the second printing of the book. The complete errata page lists all book updates. Note: the second printing isn't a 2nd edition--it just fixes some minor typos.
  
  
• (1/97) I'm going to be a guest at an online conference on CompuServe, to answer questions about Python and the O'Reilly Python book. Here's a copy of the announcement. CompuServe is launching a new Python forum in February.

• (10/96) The O'Reilly Python book is shipping! It was released on October 11, 1996, and should be available in stores in the US by Thursday, October 17, or shortly after. O'Reilly accepts on-line orders too. Click here for more book-related links.
