CiviCRM has deep integrations with Drupal through entity, webform, etc. This is a CiviCRM event but will have discussions about Drupal woven through many of the presentations and activities during the 4 day sprint following the conference. There are two day trainings before the 1 day conference for those wanting an introduction or a refresher on developing CiviCRM extensions or Administrator Training.

Goldilocks and the Three Projects: Behat, Behaviour-Driven Development, and the Promise of Getting Customer Requirements Juuust Right

• How does Goldilocks know what she likes and doesn’t like?
• If you were making her a chair, a bed, or a bowl of porridge, how would you figure it out?
• How would you convince her to spend the time and resources needed to determine what is "juuust right" for her?

The first weeks and months of the COVID-19 pandemic were a challenging time for all. The pandemic presented unique challenges for the Ontario Digital Service (ODS) as we were tasked with passing timely pandemic-related information along to the public: information about emergency orders, testing, benefits, taxes, business supports and more were all in high-demand and changing quickly, as was the growing list of stakeholders. The ODS decided to leverage our favourite CMS (Drupal) to help us meet these demands and we’ll go over some of what we did in this case-study.

OVERVIEW:

Drupal allows building highly complex content structures ranging from simple blogs to online stores to advanced enterprise publishing with complex content approval workflows. Migrating content into such complex structures is a complex problem for which Drupal provides a simple framework in the form of the migrate module. The module allows data migration from various sources to Drupal in a structured approach—a way which can be controlled, monitored, and audited.

This session will be a case study of the development of the Story City interactive map for the Vancouver Public Library ( https://thisvancouver.vpl.ca/story-city ). The custom Drupal module developed as part of the project has been released to the Islandora community ( https://github.com/echidnacorp/story_map ) since it includes functionality that should allow any Islandora assets with geographic data to be plotted on a map.
