Hello guys.

I'm using Pathauto with Global Redirect, but there is an issue that they don't solve.

Let's say I have a node and after some time I decide to change its name. Then I go and change its URL to fit the new name, Pathauto doesn't do that so I just uncheck Automatic alias and change its URL.

The problem is that the node remains with the old URL, I don't know why it is not changed. And both old and new URLs return the same content, letting it duplicated.

I'm currently implementing multiple tabs on different types of content nodes. It really bugs me to keep the tab links as node/%/tabname instead of using alias/%/tabname. I've not been able to find a solution to this and my attempts to create a module or addition to Pathauto have also come to necessity.

Finally after several weeks of preparation the Drupal Security Module Packages are available.

It's too big. Great. What can we do to slim it down and make it more useful?

1. Create separate bulk generate page
2. Use progressive disclosure for pattern settings
3. Make tokens easier to find/add
4. Create a new "Pathauto Advanced" module and
   1. Move the entire punctuation settings to it

I've a site with hundreds of taxonomy terms, now I want to create alias for these terms, but I didn't find any option to request a bulk alias generation for categories.

Somebody have piece of php to do this dirty job.

We need to run the bulk update feature on Path Auto for approx 100,000 articles. Even with increasing the maximum allowed bulk upload this is going to take ages to do. Any ideas? thanks in anticipation.

I'm developing my first site that makes extensive use of different content types, and I'm really getting into Pathauto for the first time. (Great module btw!) I have no background in SEO, so I'm wondering if experienced Pathauto users would share some of their general approaches to configuring the replacements paths. For example, here are some of my questions:

In case you don't have Update module to ping you about new releases, I just wanted to notify you that I've just made the Pathauto 5.x-2.3 and 6.x-1.1 releases! Note that this will probably be the last Pathauto 5.x release, as development focus has now shifted to 6.x-2.x. Read more about what's been changed and fixed in the release notes! :)

I have both Pathauto and Event Repeat installed.

It seems that when I update a repeating event set (either the entire set, or just future occurrences) all the Pathauto created url aliases get deleted except that last one.

I've tried all three "Update action" settings in the Pathauto module and still no luck. Any ideas?

Example:
Event Set
Event A : has alias
Event B : has alias
Event C : has alias

After an update, all aliases except for Event C are gone.
Event A : no alias
Event B : no alias
Event C : has alias

So, Freso and I have had some discussion about what bugs should be fixed prior to a 6.x-2 branch and what should go in after. I wanted to do a little more to keep track of this state (and also give people a little advanced warning that a 6.x-1.1 is about to be released so that you can help test it).

Edit 2008, Sep 30: It's that time again - time for 6.x-1.2 and 5.x-2.4 to be released soon since this was a relatively nasty bug that I think was behind a lot of problems that people were having...

If you don't have Update Status to tell you about it then you've got me ;)

The glorious Path Redirect module just releates 5.x-1.2 which fixed a nasty infinite loop bug (a bug which Pathauto triggered pretty often). So, if you use one or both of these modules I encourage you to upgrade now.
