This wiki is a centralized repository for the various plans, ideas, and conversations pertaining to the current goals, vision, and action plans of the Drupal Dojo learning and mentoring group.
Dojo Goals and Vision
- Project Goals and Desired Outcomes - goals and desired outcomes for the the Dojo itself
- The Dojo Code - an attempt to define some 'Dojo' values and principals (still very much a work in progress)
Curriculum: Lesson/project ideas and related discussions
- Drupal learning, mentoring, and education - goals/objectives/resources from the various learning groups; ideally we can identify some common goals and ways we can interface.
- Process for open collaborative development - first stab in terms of establishing guidelines and a workflow for open drupal development
- Guidelines and ideas for lessons, presentations, workshops, and projects - This working document is an attempt to identify and compile potential topics for lessons, sessions, tasks, projects and collaborative workshops.
Support and sustainability
- Organizational and Leadership Structure - Even without a formal entity - an organization, leadership, decision making, and incentive structure will ensure that the Dojo has the resources to make it stable and sustainable.
- Dojo support packages - Identify how and why individuals and companies may want to support Drupal learning, mentoring and related projects.
- Establishing guidelines and parameters for sponsor acknowledgment
Open learning and collaboration platform
Josh, with the help of some volunteers, is heading up the effort to make the group and domain useful again to the community and much more importantly to get people motivated around creating content again. Here's a spec. (very rough draft) for the trimmed down site. The following are priority issues for both the trimmed down and next gen. site.
- Live lesson subdomain - A better system for live lessons and collaboration is very much needed.
- Repository for learning materials - Dojo should not house but should aggregate materials (video, audio, slideshows, documentation) from the cloud.
Phase II - Dojo 2.0. (aka Open learning and collaboration portal)
- The feature spec finalized several months ago is being reassessed and evaluated (issue here).

Production guidelines and documentation
- Determine the best setup for live lessons and collaboration - Once we have a better setup, the Dojo will come back to life!
- Create Dojo video "standard" - Production values for educational videos
- Research video storage/delivery options - Ensure that Dojo materials reach the largest audience.
