Suggesting project ideas #19

What do you think about each of us suggesting ideas to expand the project? Also, why don’t we try to define the next tasks and divide them among us, so we can start working more as a team? It would also be great to have more communication between us so we can learn from each other.

I’m open to your suggestions on how we can enhance this repository.

First: What is the goal of the application?
Since the MoonAI application is related to astronomical calculations concerning the moon, it will perform the following main tasks:

  • Determining the phases of the moon
(New moon, First quarter, Full moon, Last quarter)

  • Calculating the timing of the new crescent moon
(The beginning of the lunar month)

  • Determining the moonrise and moonset times
(When the moon appears and disappears in the sky)

  • Calculating the moon's altitude angle above the horizon
(How high the moon is in the sky at a given time)

  • Calculating the length of the moon's shadow or illumination
(The percentage of illumination on the moon's surface)

  • Determining the distance between the Earth and the moon
(The instantaneous or average distance between the moon and Earth)

  • Calculating the moon's astronomical coordinates
    (Celestial latitude and longitude)

  • Determining the times of conjunctions (moon with the sun or other planets)
(e.g., lunar eclipses and solar eclipses)

  • Estimating the visibility of the crescent moon with the naked eye
(Based on sky conditions, timing, and altitude)

  • Calculating the timing of the moon crossing in front of stars or planets
    (Partial or total eclipses)

  • Calculating the apparent speed of the moon's movement in the sky

All these are features that we can add to the project.

Second: Who is the target audience?

  • If the application is aimed at general users or presenting results interactively, a web application is the best choice, which is what we are currently doing.
  • If it is aimed at supporting developers or other projects, then a library or API is more suitable.

Therefore, I believe it is best to choose three main important features to focus on and implement in the web application.
This means:

  • Defining the key tasks clearly
  • Breaking them down into smaller parts
  • Listing them in a well-explained task list

This way, any volunteer can:

  1. Understand what each task is about
  2. Select a specific task they want to work on
  3. Open an issue for that task

Then, you should assign the task to that contributor to make sure that no two people work on the same task at the same time.

And in case no volunteers are available,
we can open a "good first issue" and list the task there.

If the task is simple and clearly explained,
there is a good chance we can attract new contributors who are looking for beginner-friendly issues to get started.

@saeed-dev2025 I believe that with the right marketing and visibility, we can attract more contributors to join and support this project. Promoting the repo on platforms like Reddit, Twitter, LinkedIn, or other developer communities could really help spread the word. If anyone here has active accounts on those platforms, feel free to share the project — it would make a big difference!

The UI of frontend is rough we should use React for a better and more modren UI! if the admin agrees on it,
if admin agree please create a issue for it!
Thanks
