First of all, I want to apologize for submitting an issue on this repository as it is a bit off-topic, but I couldn't find any other venue to reach out to Uber Engineering teams.

I've been using Kafka for a few years now, used both MirrorMaker2 and uReplicator for replication, along with many other OSS tools (cruise-control, xinfra-monitor, burrow, etc). I was super excited when the uGroup: Uber’s Consumer Management Framework blog post came out a few months ago, and was eager to try it out and compare it against burrow and other monitoring tools we've developed throughout the years.

I guess my question is about the plans around releasing uGroup to the Open Source community. Any information around timelines or general vision would be greatly appreciated, as I'm eager to try it out and, potentially, write some plugins to monitor/alarm on other conditions that might happen within Kafka consumer groups.

Apologies again for posting the question on this repository. If there's any other channel that can be used to gather some feedback about the status of uGroup, please let me know.
