As I’m finalizing my GSoC proposal, I wanted to check if we should run our proposals through any AI content detection tools before submitting? If so, are there any specific tools you'd recommend for this?

Also, since parts of the proposal (like model names or references to research papers) might be flagged as AI-generated or plagiarized, is there an acceptable percentage of detected AI content we should stay below?

Regarding my proposal specifically for the DREAMS project, I want to be fully transparent that the Acceptable AI Use policy, I used an LLM to assist with grammar Section 6 as allowed by the policy.

While I speak English, Spanish, and French, Portuguese is my native language. Because my foundational thoughts originate in Portuguese, translating them into English isn't just about swapping words, it requires adapting to different cultural contexts and finding the exact equivalents to preserve the original meaning and tone. I used the LLM specifically to check my grammar and ensure the text was formally coherent.

Funny enough, dealing with this exact linguistic and cultural translation made me realize a deeper connection to the DREAMS abstract. The project focuses on finding proximity through shared cultural attributes (like the "two Portuguese restaurants" example) rather than just geography. Navigating these cultural nuances and adapting emotional meanings across languages is a reality I live every day. The project's core mission genuinely makes me feel like DREAMS was a project made for me to participate in!

I wanted to proactively mention the grammar check to ensure total transparency with the policy.
